Requirements
- An Android or iOS tablet with the latest version of the Do Your Order app installed.
- A registered restaurant with menu items already added on the Do Your Order platform.
- Optional: A SumUp credit card terminal for card payments.
- Optional: Epson or Star Micronics printer connected to the same wireless network.
- You have already uploaded or created a menu
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Access User Management
- Log In to Your Restaurant Account:
Open your Do Your Order account and select the restaurant where the kiosk will be set up. - Navigate to User Management:
On the restaurant screen, click on the "Users" option to access the user management section.
Step 2: Add a New User
- Create a New User:
Click on "Add New User" and fill in the required details. - Assign Kiosk Role:
Select KIOSK as the user type. This triggers an email invitation to the specified address.
Step 3: Accept the Invitation and Configure the Kiosk
- Log In to the Tablet:
Open the email invitation on the tablet you’ll use for the kiosk. Accept the invitation and log in using Google, Apple, Facebook authentication, or create a kiosk-specific account. - Select the Restaurant:
After logging in, choose the restaurant associated with the kiosk. - Connect to Printer (Optional):
If you’re using a printer, connect to an Epson or Star Micronics printer on the same wireless network. - Set Up the SumUp Terminal (Optional - Please do step 6 first):
If available in your country, connect the SumUp terminal to enable card payments. Ensure the SumUp option is enabled in the restaurant payment settings. - Table Number Prompt (Optional):
Configure whether customers are required to input a table number before submitting their order.
Step 4: Manage Incoming Orders
- Access Kiosk Orders:
Go to the restaurant screen, select POS, and then KIOSK to view orders. - Deliver Orders:
Mark ready orders as delivered.- For Prepaid Orders: They will automatically disappear after delivery.
- For Unpaid Orders: Use the "Bill All" function to generate a bill.
- Compliance for German Restaurants:
If using cloud TSE, ensure orders are routed to comply with local regulations.
Step 5: Configure Menus and VAT for Kiosk Items
In some countries, such as Germany, VAT rates differ depending on whether items are consumed inside or outside the restaurant. You can customize the kiosk menu and VAT settings as follows:
- Duplicate the Menu:
- Go to the menu section in the app.
- Click on the three dots next to the menu and select Duplicate.
- Edit the Duplicated Menu:
- Remove products that you don’t want to display on the kiosk menu.
- Add new products if necessary.
- Adjust VAT rates and prices according to local regulations.
- Assign the Duplicated Menu to the Kiosk:
- Once the menu is configured, assign it to the kiosk user to ensure proper VAT application for kiosk orders.
Step 6: Enable SumUp Credit Card Payments
To allow kiosk customers to pay via SumUp terminal:
- Access the Payment Section:
- Log in to your restaurant account.
- Go to the Payment section on the restaurant screen.
- Set Up SumUp:
- Click on "Terminals" and select the SumUp option.
- Follow the instructions to complete the setup as a business owner.
